What's the Buzz? Bee here for this event!!

We have been busy as bees preparing for Queen B, an amazing theatrical event coming to Squash Blossom Farm next weekend and hope you will join us! We have heard rave reviews from people who attended performances in the Twin Cities and are so delighted to be hosting this production.

About Queen B:

The year is 2121.

Honeybees are now extinct.

Now the only hives are the ones that humans have built for themselves.

It’s not the next revolution – it’s the one after.

100 years into the future, cities have sealed themselves under holographic domes to protect themselves from the inhospitable climate. Yet, when the robo-bee population begins to die off like their honeymaking ancestors, the fate of this new society rests upon the fading memories of the last living beekeeper, a (former?) revolutionary who goes by the name Queen B.

Written by Elle Thoni, composed by Damuen Strange, and buzzing with the sonic imagination of a multi-talented ensemble under the direction of Harry Waters Jr., QUEEN B is a fun & uplifting new outdoor musical dripping with honeybee futurism.

Squash Blossom Farm will host two performances, Saturday, August 28th and Sunday August 29th, both from 6 p. to 7:30 pm.

On Saturday, the gates will open at 5 pm and we will offer honey-inspired appetizers (such as crostini with chevre, fruit, nuts and a drizzle of honey), Spicy Sweet Potato Handpies, and Honeybee--themed mocktails for sale. The Bee Shed will be here with an observation beehive and will have local honey available for sale. After the performance, you are invited to linger with the cast and enjoy live music.

On Sunday, you may wish to take advantage of the special pizza & play deal! Enjoy your choice of wood-fired pizza (including a new Bee Happy pizza creation!) and live music by True North from 4 to 6 pm, and two tickets to Queen B at 6 pm, for $50.

Don't wait!! Tickets are limited!
