About the Event

A hands-on, taste-bud-tantalizing class for chocolate-lovers!

Our Squash Blossom Farm chocolate bars are made with heritage cacao beans grown by indigenous BriBri farmers in Costa Rica.  We are honored to have BriBri tribe member Mainor Ortiz here to explain how chocolate is the center of BriBri culture and religion.  

You will learn about the fascinating and tricky process of making chocolate from chocolate maker Roger Nelson, and then actually pour your own chocolate bars, customizing them with your favorite nuts, berries, or other inclusions.

The class will be taught in the Mead-Tasting  and Chocolate-Making rooms of our barn. Class size is very limited, but if there is overwhelming interest, we may be able to offer a second class the same day.  The mead room will also have Mead, Chocolate bars and other items available for purchase. (Hint: Chocolate and Mead make fabulous gifts!)
